Deg seems to be swimming against the tide right now .Sentiment and prices for many gold stocks is terrible as the fed tightens interest rates and strengthens the US dollar and has dropped the POG in US dollar terms by a 100$ an ounce .Trading in US and Canadian gold stocks is low in the summer (sell in May and go away). The Australian dollar is extremely weak due to the failure of the Aussie central bank to keep in step with the US fed ,Interest rates and mortgage rates are at the highest levels in 20 years due to the incompetence of the US federal government.I have no doubt that a severe US recession is coming .
Though all these things going on in the US may seem to be a long way from Australia, it is a worldwide market and it will have an impact especially on DEGS ability to finance a big mine ,banks in the US are getting downgraded .The Newcrest Newmont takeover is slowly moving forward but the amount of regulatory approvals required from multiple countries is very high.
Pretty obvious that China is entering a deflationary spiral similar to what happened to Japan 30 years ago and lasts to this day .This will be ominous for the Australian economy and its banks .
    Cash is king right now.
