Commiserations mate! These things happen though, and not just to you, believe me!
Funny you guys talk about people finding the money somehow... That's exactly my situation. I borrowed 5k off NAB, and did a short term loan with a friend for 10k. Deal is, after I factor in capital gains tax, we'll split any profits 50/50. In any instance I assured him he'd not lose any money, as I'd sell other shares to cover him come what may in the extremely unlikely event of disaster in the next 1.5 weeks. I'll hold that 5k loan parcel I suspect. Yes, I know, all a bit risky re my mate, but the company seems to be solid enough to ensure at least a few hundred dollars return each after tax, and quite possibly more. Just seemed such a rare opportunity to have a share with a price 44% above the spp price... just too good an opportunity to miss.
Very interested to see how this all pans out, and no I don't plan on making a habit of such dodgy deals... in fact it wouldn't surprise if this is a once off even if it's successful.
Fingers crossed for us all!
