    "The CommSec P/E is based on NST Half Year Results."

    I beg to differ

    The Commsec PE is calculated on the current price and an earnings figure that is effectively a time based interpolation between the last reported annual earnings and the forecast earnings. See the explanation in the screen shot below.
    As far as I am aware the half year result is not considered other than that the half year result obviously gets factored into the forecast earnings for the full year.

    The Commsec explanation is not explicit about what happens now that we are past the end of financial year but I suspect that they will be interpolating between the earnings forecast for FY2022 and the forecast for 2023.

    Also, Commsec have a bogus figure for NST's FY2021 EPS of -71.7 cents.
    I don't know how Morningstar arrives at that figure.
    Perhaps the merger screwed up Moningstar's automated calculations.
    I sent NST an email in the expectation that they might get Commsec to fix it up, but all I heard back was crickets.
