Now that TNT is no longer listed, it's a good chance for a retrospective. My TNT holdings returned an overall 17.3% CAGR. Quite frankly, I'm shocked to have been able to extract so much value from a company that was so poorly managed. I originally invested in TNT because they had the right technical people, in the right place, and at the right time to be successful early movers in cloud security. Unfortunately their founder, Keith Glennan, was unable to capitalise on this opportunity. He was arguably not the right person for the job, but much more effective than what followed. Geoff Lord presided over what was, in my opinion, a shambolic program of acquisition, both bereft of strategy and clumsy in execution. Ultimately TNT will go down in history as yet another Australian startup that could have been huge.
