I suspect that Australian power pricing is no more than a gambling game played by a few for maximum profits for our Power Generators. A great rip off set up by our Governments, without knowing the workings of a power system.
If I were a power generator I could bid for a supply price to the system at any figure not related to its cost of production or even if I could supply it at all. I just have to insure that my price is high enough so I can buy it from another source to for-fill my supply contract.
No more than a poker game at our expense.
How will it end.
As the Generators ware out, the owners will walk away, leaving a mess for our Governments to have to reinvest in new supply.
This privatisation has created a huge mess that has already cost us all heaps. More huge expenses to follow to try and fix it up.
Good luck kids we have been OK. The big trouble is still ahead.
