so much gold coming on stream

While it is known that current world gold production has fallen, the thought strikes me that hardly a day goes by without another gold junior coming online with a potential El Dorado project in Australia or deepest darkest Africa. Today we hear of the 1000 tonnes under northern Victoria. If all these projects come to fruition then who is going to consume all this gold? Not the Central Banks of Europe one imagines as they seem to be mostly dumping.
Has anyone done any research into how much gold could be mined if even half the current projects where to get underway? Seems like a figure worth knowing if you are long on gold. Unless of course you believe that currency will return to a gold based standard.
