When the roadshow was announced I assumed they must know something. Something that made them supremely confident that this was going to go well. It could have been water-cooler stuff along the lines of 'amyloid's down'; who knows, but I always assumed there was something behind it. Why? Because with the Alzheimer's carrot dangling and the potential for crazy profits it was obvious that something like the roadshow was going to focus attention and drag in all sorts of investors. To set something in motion like that, to drive the SP up and suck a whole lot of money out of pockets shows an incredible disregard for the shareholders if there's nothing there to justify that sort of exposure.
When you've got something as potentially explosive as the first decent AD treatment, you tread very lightly and you sure as hell don't shake your pom poms until it's damn sure that people should be watching.
Honestly, it annoys the hell out of me that they could act in such a way without due regard for the consequences. What's worse is the suspicion that they can do this because some of them really don't give a damn about the small investors. In a past life - now a house dad - I did my time in large finance companies and one constant was that the higher up the chain you got the less regard you saw for the 'little people'.
