I remember the first day I realised what was happening to him. I went to the park across the road and cried in my car.
I remember the first day he knew he could not think properly. He said "I would just like to walk off into the park and keep going.
My mum looked after him until the last minute when she could do so no longer.
When he did not know very much, I gave him different plants to smell. He liked that.
I hope some day we will have a cure for this disease.
I am sometimes afraid of it, but this week I wrote a huge document that will mean a father gets to see his child in a custody battle - I'm sure - so I get to make a difference today in a little girl and her dad's life.
If I die tomorrow or I start to forget, I will still be happy because I've made a difference.
Like my dad did for me and others too.
