Well the Romans had a hand in it also. The point is why should collective guilt be borne by the jews. Only a handful of em could possibly have been aware of what was happening and their descendants had no say in the matter. Nor did the descendants even align themselves with jesus' death.
By all means punish the guilty, but not the families, descendants or the whole community of the guilty.
Only barbarians who want killing for their own gratification would do that.
