Its_not_the_placement_people. These people were probably also in at $4 and above. It is not in their interest to be selling. So they hand over $17m on a weekend and sell it the following week and make 10% on that, meanwhile they are writing down the value of the other $20-odd million they hold.
Anyone on Bloomberg can see that most of the BAS sell action in October was macquarie. The question is why, and for whom?
I suggest it is mum and dad taking their money off the table. Its hit diesel, what more announcements are there? So they think this is as good as it gets. Plus the forced selling on margin by perhaps a US insto in on the Sapex deal. perhaps
