Good considered post, Underdone. I agree with most of your "what ifs" but disagree with some assumptions you've made to get there.
Firstly, I don't think Bodyguard suitors have "fallen by the way", that we have been forced to do it on our own because nobody wants to take us to the dance. The new board has seen first hand what it's been like being railroaded by a corporate behemoth like P&G, where we don't get to call the shots AND get a far smaller slice of the pie. Going it alone is a strategy of our choosing, not out of desperate circumstance.
Secondly, I really do not believe cap raises will be needed to launch this product and maintain it - ever. That could change or I could certainly be wrong. I reckon cap raises might be needed much further down the track for clinical progression of BIG ticket items.Bodyguard being shopped around was long before the current Board was in place. OBJ had been rejected by everyone else, so was looking to go it alone.
In fact, it was in March of 2017 with OBJ announced that it had partnered with a company with US$7b in annual revenue to commercialise BodyGuard and in particular KneeGuard.
