All it states is that during the initial release the company has made a decision to retain the right to sell users data. It does not say that data will be retained to sell as the company sees fit until the company implements a payment structure. There is a difference.

As for what data they sell is immaterial. The fact that you're even arguing that point says to me you don't understand the reason why many people get VPN's in the first place.
