your last comment has a lot of merit
too often we are quite partial when it comes to love (like, "i give a stuff about this, but not that")
the more expansive that we make it, or continually incorporate it into a more satisfactory mode of existence, the more it reciprocates.
it is not until some relatively consistent effort, that worthwhile progress is made.
then doubts start to drop away with the confidence of one's experience
