The way I look at it is that the company only has X amount of production capacity per year. You want that product going to your most profitable channels. At the moment they need to build B2C up but once it's properly established then I can't see it making much sense to divert product to B2B when you can earn twice the amount selling it B2C. If they have excess production capacity then it starts to make more sense to keep B2B around for the future.
