Great find propierce, thanks for sharing! Just goes to show AWC is (IMO) a really good share to hold! Its had a recent leg up and is probably now in a pause phase but I wouldn't be surprised if it does another leg up soon.

Alumina

SOME companies have a structure that begs for a takeover and Alumina is one of those.

With its main asset being 40 per cent of Alcoa World Alumina and Chemicals, it seems a matter of time before Alcoa cleans up the whole structure and gets full control of the alumina and aluminium production out of the two Australian smelters.

You don't need to rely on a takeover alone to make money though.

Aluminium prices are finally on the mend, with some experts saying the metal can break through $US2500 a tonne this year as inventories fall and demand from the developing world rises.

Other stocks that could be takeover targets this year include ConnectEast, Computershare, Fairfax Media, Goodman Fielder, Dulux, Graincorp, Oil Search and Santos.
