the bigger issue is does the US continue to invest in the DRC? Does the railway get built? Do the europeans invest? What will the western world do when the critical elements they are investing in got robbed and sold to the chinese?
What about the world bank? Will they give billions?
What about the asset, will anyone back the 300m + capex needed if title wasnt certain? Certainly the west will not, will zinjin with the ICSID and ICC damages in play?
You see this is not just about zinjin and manono, this is bigger....
The DRC is no doubt pushing AVZ to accept the south, AVZ in-turn is pushing for remediation on the north. This is likely the stalemate and I expect Nigel will be thinking hard on the best course of action. Personally i think we accept the south and take an ownership position of the north that is small but nonetheless an equity position
