Modern soccer has a major problem - lack of goals.

    1. The modern day player is much fitter. This means players can run more and there is a tighter defence than in the past. Less open spaces in attack.

    2. The modern day goalie is much taller.

    3. Offside decisions are so often incorrect and usually favour the defenders.

    4. Free kicks for the attacking side which should be paid are not paid in the penalty box. What else can explain the free kick ratio of over 30 to defenders for every penalty paid?

It's about time administrators woke up to themselves and moved with the times.

    1. The height of the goals needs to be increased to take account of the much taller goalkeepers. Say by six centimetres.

    2. The width of the goals also needs to be increased. Half a metre will do.

    3. The offside ruling should be altered so the benefit of he doubt is given to the attacking side. It is also often physically impossible for the assistant referee to know where the player running forward is at the same time as the ball is kicked. The assistant referee does not have eyes in the back of his head. Videos could also be used.

    4. Free kickc should be paid as merited, which will mean more penalty kicks or alternatively less scragging in the penalty box and so more goals scored.

You'll be surprised how these small changes will make for a far more attarctive game.
