I flinch at the very mention of the word. My blood boils at the thought of it.
They say no man is an island, but as Hugh Grant famously said "Well I'm an island. I'm bloody Ibiza!"
And I believe we should all strive to limit its encroachment on our lives.
You've all read George Orwell I suspect and know the dangers.
The creeping supervision and control of our lives. And it's underway now and has been for decades.
We have an openly avowed socialist Prime Minister. Our tax money goes to funding what is virtually a Comintern, a kaleidoscope of international bodies which stealthily year by year gain more input and oversight into and over our lives. Over what our elected governments are partially bound to do, because they have signed the treaties.
If you have ever worked in the public service, as I did long ago for a very short time, you would be aware of the groupthink environment that governs your lives. The grey miasma that pervades their offices and now I suppose the digital environment of your very living space with DEI bumpff and so on.
We can recapture our freedom however, still, at this late hour, by voting for anti-socialist candidates. Freedom is still a choice open to us.
