I agree MS. At the moment, most EV purchasers are very conscious of the range the battery can provide. Decreasing range by using Sodium batteries will not be a positive selling point. For use in ESS (Energy Storage System) applications there might not be such a large resistance.
But as you say, we have been hearing about many new battery technologies for quite a few of my 68 years, and very few find their way into production let alone mainstream use.
