I don't think the selection process has changed too much over the years.
I remember when I was growing up in the 1950 60 era, the statement then was was,

The only thing harder than getting into the Australian test team was getting out of it.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

I haven't been to a Boxing Day test for many years, and will be watching from Canberra this year..(visiting family)
I've been an MCC member for a long time, but rarely get to the ground, even to the football.
I should let it lapse, as I definitely don't get value for money from being a member, but it's too hard to get into in the first place.
