I don't believe Sojitz
could by $250m worth of shares at market easily. If the price was $1.80 they would need approx 140m units which is approx a 8.2% stake in LYC. I understand the '3% creep' rule only allows 3% every 6 months and if over 19% is reached then a TO must be initiated, not TO would be an issue here.
BUT, I do agree, no 'mates rates' deals at our expense. Pardon my cynicism but when has it ever not been at our expense. LOL
I would like to see the $250m be a looooooow interest rate spread over maaaaaany years for a LYC showing the Japanese preference with supply. And why not, they saw the opportunity and acted.
Just my opinion.
