Solar cycle 25 is the upcoming and 25th solar cycle since 1755, when extensive recording of solar sunspot activity began.[1][2] It is expected to begin in late 2019 and continue through 2030.[3][4]
The first sunspot from the cycle appeared in December 2016. Sunspot data as of March 2018 suggests that it may have started unusually early (in February 2018), although it is too early to say for certain.
Solar cycle 18 was the eighteenth solar cycle since 1755, when extensive recording of solar sunspot activity began.[1][2] The solar cycle lasted 10.2 years, beginning in February 1944 and ending in April 1954.
