yep that is because Simon also owns Base64, a tech company, that is developing the BMS for Redflow, so its a synergy really that is more than just a battery company. The many lithium batteries on the market actually contain only a few large brands under the hood (panasonic etc.) and dont have their own tech they are just going with the battery storage wave with nothing unique on the battery-tech or adaptability side, just putting their own enclosure around the same thing everyone else is selling.

Tesla is different of course as they now want to move from Panasonic to their own manufacturing with the gigafactory and will likely focus on offering fully integrated packages solar + storage + their own smart grids (making adaptability unnecessary, as per Simon's metaphor, similar to Apple vs Android). LG Chem batteries also have the advantage of containing LG cells hence the competitive pricing.

In short, yes, imo adaptability is where Redflow will shine in addition to the technical benefits of the battery.
LG Chem still ahead in the lithium space in my opinion but things can change rapidly the market is moving so fast. AFAIK they sold more batteries than Tesla in Australia so far but happy to be corrected.
