@moondoong; sanctions have had little impact on Russia but they've put a rocket under fuel prices and set inflation loose - impacting the rest of the World very badly and including Australia. Using up the massive US oil stockpile is great for the USA though as it ramps up its transition to renewables it will not left with a worthless oil stockpile.
Sanctions have driven Russia into greater cooperation with other totalitarian regimes and because of the lax regulation of cryptocurrencies achieved next to nothing. Now we're being told North Korea is about to test a nuclear warhead even as Iran is within a whisker of doing so.
So how have we helped the Ukrainian People? Last I looked they were still being slaughtered, their cities reduced to rubble and 20% of their lands had fallen under Russian control. And the answer; more weapons, more death, more displacement, more destruction.
And yet that's apparently your idea of a great outcome - just like the Vietnam War, the invasion of Iraq, Abbott's holy crusade throughout the Middle East and of course Afghanistan.
For warmongers like Putin and America's gun toting mongrels it's not the final outcome that matters [eg. losing the Vietnam War], it's the ongoing slaughter of innocents, destruction of livelihoods and of property - feeding that lust for power over others.
