One of my brother's has a Tesla with the larger battery, a 15Kw home solar system including battery and even a diesel backup.
He lives GRID-FREE!
His Tesla does two-way power transfer - charging from the home battery as needed and vice versa. His wife recently travelled 700kms to and from Canberra without needing to top-up en route. They've no power bill at all and no gas bill either.
