The "transition" Australia needs to make is to nuclear.

Batteries will never cut it in an industrialised economy.

Once we are all living in independent little cottages with no requirement for baseload power your batteries might be enough to boil the kettle, keep the (small) fridge going until the sun comes up tomorrow (hopefully) and power the tele to keep up with all the Gov approved propoganda.
If Australian transitions to electric cars it will need multiples of the current power output - where is that going to come from ????
