William, I think you need to place blame where it belongs though, Translucent was supposed to deliver the highest efficiency solar cells, they didn't deliver, in fact Michael Lebby who was CEO of Translucent, let the technology walk right out the door, they should have taken the matter to the IP court but they chose not to, although IQE, who ended up being in possession of the IP did take them to court in the end and won!
The loss of that IP meant that all of their ventures into solar were useless, CHRONOLOGIC was different, it was before it's time, and will be very useful when transmission speeds increase, as they will with Quantum and what it will do for optical transmission, so in a way it wasn't MG's fault directly, it was those in the US that caused our problems and still are IMHO, and it seems much the same is happening again, FUKISHIMA didn't help advance our cause either, but MG did stick with his mission and there are now several technologies stemming from the one platform and I am sure there are more to come? innovate or die and they are not rabbit holes as some would have you believe, I would not have worked for him, by my choice not his. he is not someone who shares the motto, "who dares wins."
