This one is for ozblue (whom I have on ignore) and anyone else who thinks solar is a no brainer. The headline is for a badly designed and/or oversized system, which exist a lot more than one might think. Go on forums where people complain their bill didn't drop as much as the salesperson suggested it would.

The minimum ROI shown in the sites below is 4 years, for a correctly designed and operating system - and I stress this point - with solar rebates included to bring the cost of the system down. That's 4 years minimum for a mature technology! Take away the rebates and solar is no longer financially attractive as it currently is regarded.

No hogwash here, no spruiking, these explanations, facts and figures come from the industry itself.

Solar does not and cannot stand on its own with current pricing - it requires both incentives and FiTs to get it across the line.

CFU is currently at bargain basement prices but extremely high risk.
