It's not a bad strategy at all to wait until the dust settles and rejoin the party from $1. However, as far as I can see the signs are positive moving forward, you can only assume that the cash flow has improved otherwise the banking syndicate would have pulled the pin. Also the shorters % is not increasing and I think around the 5% level is neutral anyway if you look at the divergence of the short % and SP on the chart.
