I think the use of "our soldiers will be returned home by christmas" WAS A STUPID attempt at political point scoring.

As if our soldiers aren't in enough danger.


Regardless of peoples views of the removal of Saddam from Iraq the fact remains that these long suppressed people now have a real chance to experience the freedoms we have enjoyed for generations and often take for granted.

The process of installing a young democracy and helping the majority is more important than the immature and small minded calls for "bring em home" and "lets bury our heads in the sand and the problems of the world will go away".

We need to stand united. Support our soldiers and help Iraq to rebuild a nation that is based on a democratic foundation as quickly as possible. And not leave them to be taken over by groups who only wish to fill Saddams shoes.( political or religious ).

Well thats my view, let the knives fly.
