"A separate source at a pellet producer said last Friday he saw room for lump premiums to rise, at least until they match sintering costs.
Premiums for imported pellet, meanwhile, have remained elevated, according to a Beijing-based mill source.
"Offer levels for pellet premiums are all around $22-25/dmt CFR China, but mills are only willing to pay around $16-17/dmt," he said. "That's why they'll turn to imported lump cargoes and that's driving the spot lump premium up."
