Solid State is often associated with Lithium Metal anodes. However, Lithium Metal anodes have a dendrite problem causing the battery to explode and catch fire which needs to be solved. There is also the cost of producing lithium metal, having enough lithium available to produce them and trying to do it at scale. Unlike lithium within the battery, lithium anodes are 100% pure.
Therefore, lithium metal anodes are years away from being used. In the mean time, solid state batteries will continue to use graphite. If/when they do solve the dendrite problem they'll mainly be used in high end vehicles. By then, production of EV's will be so high there is no way they could manufacture enough to come close to replacing graphite. You can't mix the 2. Lithium metal anodes are a completely different technology.
