I think he is trying to force Woolworths SA to negotiate buy him out of Country Road. He owns 11% and Woolworths owns 88% of Country Road. With 10% holding in DJS, Woolworths cannot move into compulsory takeover after holders approved. IMHO he wants $4/share for DJS and massive premium for his holding (11%) in Country Road.

Alternatively he might just control DJS, this will really upset Woolworths and Woolworths walks away. IMHO I think both Solomon and Woolworths see DJS worth more than $4/share in the long run.
