I was never a big fan of Scott Morrison (I always felt he intellect and true statesman-like qualities), but I have to say, the way he has been operating in recent months has muzzled a lot of my personal cynicism.
The wide tracts of political ground he is covering - including the goodwill he is generating by publicly supporting a state now gone rogue in a calm, composed manner and without trying to score any cheap points in the process [*] - is going to make him nothing less than formidable at the polls.
I wouldn't want to be a political opponent to Morrison- Frydenburg duo for the next few years, that's for sure.
Who would have thought it?
Not me.
[*] The citizenry aren't that dumb; they can identify that.
