Joannie, YES you did exactly what I did back in 1988 when I moved from down south, up to Brisbane with just $1500 in the bank & a reliable car.
Worked hard, not just 1 job but would knock off at 4.00pm on one job, then drive 15 minutes to work another 6 Hours at my second job. I did this for my initial period in Brisbane to enable to save for my first home deposit & haven't looked back ever since.
It's about work ethic, saving & commitment to achieve ones goals.
I still to this day rarely have such things as takeaway, as it's much much cheaper to do all at home, & no longer have any financial hardship.
The young need to get a grip & stop blaming others, success comes from within not through Government interference.
