1. I get that, the point is I was questioning the poster who claimed that prices were high due to land availability being restricted which it simply isn't the case. Simply put like you say similar to London there just isn't anough land to develop.
2. Again I think you've missed the point a little. I wasn't having a crack at 1970s housing I'm stating that current standards and rules don't allow for new housing supply to be built the same way. Those rules to meet energy efficiency targets/water usage minimisation massively increase the cost of building new housing. Which means new affordable housing is basically a myth at least not without massive subsidies.
