Solution is simple. Get rid of lousy useless Guvnuts!
Let me explain.
When AirBNB poked its ugly head, the Guvnuts should have looked for unintended consequences. My six year old dog (God bless him) could have provided useful comments.
AirBNB is short-term and lucrative. Rental homes were bound to suffer. What they shoulda said was, "OK, you want to go down this path, we want you to set yourself up as a hotel and comply with all requirements". Too late now.
So maybe the best way to go is to require that of new AirBNB and say to the existing ones that they can only use it as AirBNB for one month of the year??
And the Guvnuts should also start looking at quarantining rental expenses instead of treating as deductible against other income.
Finally, fix Immigration NOW, to ensure we limit it to the numbers that actually depart our shores permanently!! And tell businesses who start sobbing that if they cannot make a go of it with existing Ozzies they can p!ss off to some other country!!!!!
