I think they can do more than just tinker around the edges but they don’t have the guts to do it and the housing lobby and investors won’t let them

For starters make the population grow th zero by controlling immigration, if you have zero population growth you don’t need new housing…

Numerous other things can be done, banning foreign ownership, scrap beg fearing unless in new properties, being back the full cgt etc etc

If there is no demand for property and no tax breaks in property the prices would substantially reduce and the dream alive again…
