Why have we created this property problem here re affordability.

It could easily be fixed by stopping immigration, changing tax laws, stop foreign ownership and reduce airbnb short term letting
We could make housing 30% cheaper imo almost overnight and then asking rents could be less and more money could be available in the economy for more productive things

Then we could get home ownership rates to increase and make the aussie dream a reality again....

I agree, BB, but the LNP would go nuts accusing the Labs of being commo pinkies - and it'd be political suicide for the Labs, given circa 60% of the populous (property owners) would vote them out.
