I did a fairly quick read through that rather long article and my initial thoughts are that the shared equity scheme, could be workable for all parties, on the face of it.
There is rather a lot of this going on in England, I have noticed. Although many schemes are only available for people aged 55-60 plus.
But it is one idea, that could be implemented fairly quickly I think. In fact it is making me think of reverse mortgages, not sure without looking at it closer.
