There never used to be any customs or baggage checks INTO Jakarta - one just picked up ones luggage, followed the signs, and bingo - you're outside. Could have taken anything in. Coming back, in '91, I think, they sealed our handluggage with tape seals. I still have the tape remnants on my old briefcase I used to use then. And yes, they X-Rayed hand luggage.
But it wasnt THEIR security I was doubting, but ours.
