Again I'm not as worried by this as I probably should be.
But previous announcements have shown that Puntland is able to make its own decisions. It has a government, a president, and the TFG is a bit of a toothless tiger.
The TFG are happy to give Puntland autonomy because at the moment it is possibly one of the only restful/peaceful parts of Somalia.
I also think from memory (can someone confirm) that Puntland had agreed to a sharing arrangement of income from the oil/gas produced in puntland (state tax if you will). I hope that the TFG don't get a say in this, as we won't be getting anywhere for 5 years or so. All of their energy at the moment is focused on trying to defeat the different Rebel factions and hold on to the parts of Mogidishu they have.
Puntland will go ahead with what they are doing regardless as they need the benefit of the income. TFG will have to come around if they want their share alot sooner!
