Could be rubbish science at play here.
Think about it, of course those men that are more prone to ED will be less likely to be engaging in sex. This won't just be due to the mechanical failure but also due to anxiety issues which effect their confidence in pursuing sexual conquests.
Men with ED have sex less because they have ED.
