The last paragraph of the article states "This decision directly impacted major companies like B2 Gold, Nordgold, Endeavor Mining, Semafo, Fortuna Silver Mines, and Hummingbird Resources, disrupting Western business." I accept that the article doesn't state outright that the reportedly "sweeping ban" has impacted these entities but I thought it was worth taking a closer look at those ones anyway.:-

B2 Gold has no interests in Burkina Faso. It sold Toega and Kiaka to WAF in 2021.

Endeavour Mining sold its only Burkina Faso interests, namely the Boungou and the Wahgion mines, to Lilium Capital (announced in 2023). These assets were originally acquired when Endeavour took over Canadian domiciled Gold miners Semafo in 2020 (Boungou), and Teranga in 2021 (Wahgion).

Fortuna Mining's sole Burkina Faso mine Yaramoko is a producing asset whose reserves are now in 2024 reportedly depleted to the point of the mine having only a year left to run. It doesn't report to hold any active exploration or development assets in Burkina.

Hummingbird Resources has no active assets in Burkina as at 2024. It has assets in Mali, Guinea and Liberia.

Nordgold is a largely Russian owned entity that, to the best of my understanding, plays by the rules of Burkina Faso. Probably fair to say doubtful that they might be impacted by any efforts to nationalise assets.

Semafo, as mentioned, was wholly acquired by Endeavour Mining. It effectively no longer exists.



Of that list it is really only Nordgold which has assets that might attract significant interest in Burkina. At least that is how it looks.
