The main point I was trying to make, which the majority are not willing to listen to, is that the morality (or not) of shorting is not at all the same thing as the effect shorting may have (or may not) in the market.
An argument about whether it is useful in some way to the operation of markets touches not on the morality.
In my view, it's immoral because of the intent to profit at another's expense.
Incidentally Wink - your Whooshka is easily the best piece of TA I've seen on this site. Knocks the socks off all the cycle stuff which is totally useless for prediction, or the astrological rubbish. Very impressive.
