Some climate deniers should be pitied, but none deserve respect.
Grandpa, what was it like when you could afford to eat pork, beef and lamb whenever you wanted. What does a steak taste like? How come we only eat vegetarian food and a tiny bit of chicken or farmed fish on special occasions?
Son, we made a big mistake and listened to people who said climate change wasn’t a big deal,and before we knew it, the world changed.
By then it was too late to do anything to stop it. Now a lot of the places where cows and sheep were farmed are no good because they get sick in the heat and rain and soon die.
This sort of conversation could occur well before the turn of this century, so how are deal with the issue of climate change.
Firstly IMO we should not give respect to climate deniers.
Some believe climate change is a hoax, or conspiracy or just a non-issue, and could be pitied for their ignorance about science, but they cannot be given a platform if all they are doing is spreading doctrine from denier think tanks who gain financially by delaying action on climate change.
The contemptible deniers are those who seek to gain financially, or in terms of fame and attention.
They should not be given a platform if their scientific arguments are soundly debunked.
