Yes Some climate scientists have been saying that in private for a few years now and IMO they are probably on the money.
Given the temperature changes in the Arctic and what will happen when a huge quantity of methane is released we have probably already triggered off a few vital tipping points.
But humans can still react in the next couple of decades and hopefully new technologies may help, such as fusion energy and large scale CO2 extraction from the atmosphere.
