Consider it from their point of view - there's a number of reasons why a Chinese investor would want to sell:
- They bought it for a fraction of the price it's trading at now and just want to cash in
- They're not keen on holding a company trading on a foreign exchange, with exchange rate risk
- They want to sell the company on the ASX as a means of transfering wealth out of the country (strong incentive for anyone that wants a permanent residency in Australia)
Plus many more that I'm probably not familiar with, some of which would also be negative.
