You are correct you do need to upload from your your PC via FTP to your webpage.
You may also try Freewebs.com (use a bogus name when you sign up)
or use Sharescene to upload the image and link the sharescene URL back to HC.
My former ISP was Ozemail their client webspace name could not be changed ..all my earlier charts had my Name on them ...this could not be changed..
I changed ISP's with a Bogus sign on name..
