I am determined to generate the bulk of our required power. We are actually in the process of measuring wind on our block for a domestic wind turbine. We thought it was quite windy however it looks like we will not be able to get the wind speed we need to run a turbine (approx 8ms).
They look really nice when on a good tower, but what we envisage as windy is not enough. They really do need to be located properly.
There is no doubt that they have a place in the energy supply, just the reality is that most people will be better served with solar panels. Why more people dont do it has me beat.
